Kate leads the Operational Road Safety specialism in Jacobs, focussing on the safety of workers, road users and others affected by highway design, construction, operation and use. Through more than 25 years in this work, she has investigated many cases of loss of life on strategic and local roads through suicide or other intentional actions.  She uses her own bereavement through a workplace fatality to help prevent harm to others in the industry and more widely, through her ‘Kate’s Story’ video. She also supports others widowed while young, and through this, she has seen the devastating impact that suicide has on so many people.
