Bringing new technology expertise and innovation to Interchange

Interchange is delighted to announce Google Cloud as Headline Sponsor for the first Interchange event, which takes place at the NEC on 26/27 April 2023.

It’s an excellent fit, in that Google Cloud shares our goal of creating a sustainable, integrated and digitalised transport infrastructure that puts the user at the centre of the network.

Google Cloud’s involvement will support the community in achieving these aims and brings to the table its expertise in the digitalisation of the transport network. Data underpins the network, and the decisions made on how it operates needs to be more accessible and easier to analyse.

Furthermore, digitalisation relies on technology that can flex and adapt to meet the different requirements of a currently disparate group of transport stakeholders - infrastructure, operator, legislator - at both national and local levels. The key message is interoperability is essential.

Andrew Dowding, Managing Director of Interchange said, “Interchange is about developing and managing the infrastructure that enables the intelligent, joined up, climate-positive movement of goods and people. It’s clear that to achieve this the traditional transport infrastructure world needs to forge new relationships with the digital, energy and real estate sectors and Google Cloud’s sponsorship will support these important conversations.”
