PlusCharge and ATEM Networks launch UK’s first media screen enabled EV Chargers

Electric vehicle charge points have just got a bit funkier thanks to a collaboration between charging solution provider PlusCharge and interactive media systems provider ATEM Networks.

Their Media Screen Chargers incorporates a 55-inch bright screen which offers “exceptional visibility even in direct sunlight”, meaning PlusCharge is able to offer seamless integration of a wide range of bespoke content creating “exciting new ways for businesses to engage with their audience and generate revenue streams”.

David Hytch, Technical Director for PlusCharge says, “Unlike many EV charging providers that solely offer AC charging stations with outdoor advertising screens, PlusCharge is innovating the market by firstly offering the more powerful DC charging stations, but also launching our first AC and DC media screen charging points.

“Our solution provides users with the ability to operate the system on more than one link, therefore reducing the possibility of data bottlenecks when supporting both chargers and media screen content. With ATEM Networks as our partner, we can also provide customised content for fixed cycles or live streaming based on user requirements on each unit, allowing different content for each screen.”

Shahin Shahroudi, Co-Founder & Chief Product Officer at ATEM Networks expressed enthusiasm for the partnership, saying, “We are thrilled to introduce this new ground-breaking solution. The collaboration with PlusCharge will leverage the strengths and expertise of both companies to deliver innovative, future-forward charging stations with media screen capabilities. This partnership allows us to roll out new media formats across the UK, complementing our German programme where the first locations have gone live in Berlin. Through our partnership, customers can expect tailored content on the Media Screens and user-friendly management practices that ensure ease of use.”

In addition to the Media Screens, PlusCharge provides a range of solutions to its customers, driven by its back-office software, PlusConnect. This gives customers access to information about tariffs, arrange billing and directly contact support channels 24/7through the app. PlusConnect also provides valuable data insights, empowering operational managers to optimise charger usage, prioritise certain vehicles and maximise profits.

“Overall”, says Hytch, “our aim is to address the widespread poor performance of existing networks which are sufficiently serious to be impeding the take up of EV adoption and electric vehicle charging in the UK.
