Professor Phil Blythe

Professor Phil Blythe CBE brings a vast range of expertise and experience to DARe, the national hub for decarbonised, adaptable and resilient transport infrastructure. As former Chief Scientific Adviser to the Department for Transport, he can provide detailed understanding and insights into the key challenges facing UK transport.

Phil’s academic focus has been the development of ITS – the use of information, communications and computing technology applied to transport. He chairs the Institute of Engineering and Technology (IET)’s Transport Policy Panel, and has been Principal Investigator (PI) and Co-Investigator on more than 70 research projects.
